Hi! I'm Tim Mellinger. Welcome to a community that inspires each other to lives of Daring Hope. This is the official Daring Hope store. We provide unique gifts and personalized map art, while encouraging people to dream, dare to hope and live life to the fullest. We strive to live lives that dare to believe in a better world, and dare to step out of our comfort zones to make the world a better place. We believe that together we can make a real difference in the world.

We aren't your normal business! Tim didn't start Daring Hope to make a lot of money, but instead out of a dream that he had between undergrad and grad school to make a difference. After college graduation, instead of getting a career job, Tim's life was forever transformed when he got on a plane and moved to South America. He lived at over 14,000ft elevation in the Andes Mountains of Bolivia with indigenous Quechua people, learned from them, and equipped local indigenous leaders.

After moving back to SoCal, Tim went to grad school, then began a career developing next generation leaders, while waiting for the right timing to move back to the developing world. This realization hit Tim though, "Why do I have to choose either making a difference in my city in the US or moving to the developing world. Can't I do both!?" As Tim was dreaming up plans to make this happen, he gave his girlfriend at the time, what she described as one of the best gifts she's ever received: the Adventure 4 Maps Print that you'll find in our store today. After she received a ton of comments on her Instagram post about the gift, Tim decided to start selling these unique, thoughtful personalized map prints, so that others could experience the joy they bring. What seemed unthinkable before, has now become a risk worth taking, a daring hope, & an unbelievably exciting journey.

We use our skillset, resources and time to help people dare to dream and make those dreams reality. For example, Tim recently traveled to Africa to a remote village way out in the bush of Uganda to serve a community without electricity or running water going through a drought.

Our goal is to leverage both our lives and business to energize and equip people to be change agents for the common good. We do this a few ways:

1. We give 10% of all profit to a unique cause every month. Check out this month's Cause here. 
2. The mobility of an online business enables Tim to develop change agents not only in SoCal, but will soon allow him to do leadership development in villages from Africa to Latin America, change agents who make a difference where they live, work, and play.
